I like to think I know alot about alot of things, but I'll admit that gardening isn't one of them. Although I dream of having a garden someday, my own turf has always been either a balcony or a terrace...and usually on the shady side of the street. It's a good thing I happen to love ivy and ferns in all varieties (and have a secret desire to be a moss farmer) because green and non-flowering has been the constant in my world of container gardening.
Although I wanted my crocus bulbs to come to life in those black urns (and to do that time-lapse header I promised) I was beginning to fear a miscalculation. Even after much research I was still unsure - Were the containers deep enough? Have adequate drainage? Should I plant them in a rich potting soil or would they thrive with water and rocks like narcissus and amaryllis?
So here is the result of my worries. They're now nestled half-way up to their necks in soil in one of my favorite containers and seem to be thriving in their new home.
I can't write anymore today - That song, "It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" is going through my head on a loop and drowning out all my thoughts. Who is that? Andy Williams? It's awful. I think I may have had too much coffee this morning.

Dear Catherine,
I am so glad I visited here this morning...to see those fresh little tips of crocus emerging from dark, mossy earth is so nourishing. Congratulations on their growth so far. May they bring you much joy in the weeks to come!
Happy Advent,
Lesley
Suze - It's a catchy little tune, isn't it? That's why it's taken over my very being! Ha!
Lesley - Thanks, Lesley. I'm so glad you stopped by. I LOVE your blog! Looking forward to your Advent posts.

Lovely photos and the suggestion of bright things to come - can't wait to see the finished blooms in that beautiful pot. Francesca
now that was a great moment i bet when you saw them pop their heads out.
i actually prefer the non-flowering kind of plants.
You are too funny! And I'm right there with you on the gardening thang. Even in my deck pots, things don't usually turn out as I hope and plan. But even if yours don't turn our perfectly, you do know how to beautify the scene and you will always have that! Turn down that music in your head and have a lovely evening.
Bisous~ Kirsten
What a lovely gift this would be for someone special, especially it such a divine containter. I think it time I find one and a fabulous container, You have inspired me.........or am I too late. Not the best gardener, XO
Gardening as much as I love plants and flowers is not a happening thing in my little Parisian apartment!! Can relate to the coffee thing I have had to cut back now on one a day(well trying)
