Rose Soup

This antique Italian soup tureen has been a favorite "vase" of mine for about 25 years. This week its been holding my birthday bouquet - heavy, waxy pink roses and spicy-scented lavender stock. I move it from room to room with me...dining room, living room, studio, bedroom. I'd love to have flowers in every room but I don't have Elton John's budget. There is a wonderful book entitled 'Elton John's Flower Fantasies' that shows the incredible floral arrangements he had in his country estate in England. Worth a look - HERE.

Never underestimate the healing power of flowers. I'm convinced that each glance releases a pleasurable jolt of serotonin into the brain - something this moody Scorpio chick needs more of.

Here's an update on my crocus bulbs: They're coming up very, very slowly. At this point I'm hoping for blooms by Valentine's Day.

On a Sad Note: RIP Doyle Bramhall - An amazing musician, kind soul, family friend. We are so sad to hear of the loss of another great musician who has been a part of our lives.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Your birthday flowers are gorgeous and you have displayed them in such a stunning way...I don't blame you at all for moving them from room to room with you. I left a comment on my post re Pinterest that you might like to go back a read.

Dear Moody Scorpio Chick,
Wishing you the highest, most fabulous mood for your birthday! And hope there are plenty of flowers. So very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend and fellow artist. Life is so very short, a perfect idea to carry our flowers with us wherever we go and enjoy them every single moment! (And they ARE gorgeous, including the tureen!)
Hugs, Kirsten
